Official opening of the Phase 2 Extension to KTI
The Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr. John O’Donoghue, T.D., performed the official opening of the Phase 2 Extension to Killarney Technology Innovation Centre on Friday 7th May 2004.
Due to the success of the existing Centre and the continuing strong demand for space, the Board of KTI decided to develop Phase 2 of the project. This involved the construction of a further 4500 ft² of enterprise space at the rear of the existing building. This new block incorporates eight new enterprise Units of 400 ft² approx. In addition, extensive upgrading of the grounds and car parking facilities was carried out.
One quarter of the newly developed space has already been let to Rosenbluth International Ltd. Following the closure of its Call Centre at Fossa, Killarney, the company decided that a number of jobs in its system analyst section would remain in Killarney if a suitable location could be found. The newly developed KTI extension offered an ideal solution to meet the company's needs. Six people are now based in the KTI Centre. Rosenbluth International is an American Express Company.
